According to British Standard 9999:2017, all fire dampers need to be tested after installation by a competent person and then annually moving forward. Dampers in hospitals and high-risk facilities, particularly spring-operated fire dampers should be tested more frequently.
Our experienced and competent engineers have a track record in providing fire damper testing to commercial, healthcare, educational or catering production premises. We have a well-established electronic reporting system that is reinforced with photographic evidence to ensure that you are achieving maximum compliance.
Process
Initial Consultation
We will attend your site for an initial consultation and evaluate the best course of action to ascertain what fire dampers you have, how many, where they are located and their suitability for ‘drop testing’.
Quotation
Depending on the accuracy of your buildings OEM data and the availably of as fitted drawings we will then either recommend a physical quantitative survey of your premises or use your existing information to provide a quotation for drop testing together with a contract schedule.
Testing
Based on the information used to compile our quotation we will generate a schedule of work with your site representative and submit RAMS to cover the duration of the intended work. Once on site our engineers will then:
Reporting
Using our reporting software the test engineer will produce a photographic certificate of compliance per damper which will include the dampers asset number and location, pass or fail and remedial work if required. This is linked to an indexable database detailing the results of the testing for proof of compliance.
Remedial work
Any fire dampers that fail the drop test, could not be accessed or were identified in addition to the original quote will be listed on a follow up quotation.
Annual Testing
We will contact you three months prior to the anniversary of the test date to schedule in re-testing and confirm contract costs. Discounted costs will be applied to annual contracts.
